Andrew grew up in Rochester, Kent, and after spending three happy years at the University of Portsmouth he worked in banking, marketing, and tech consultancy. He has worked in a bar, as a film extra, and for seven years was a church pastor. He has ghostwritten award-winning biographies, as well as commercially and independently published fiction.

He is also the host of The Creative Writer’s Toolbelt a podcast that gives practical, accessible advice on the craft of writing, and the author of The Creative Writer’s Toolbelt Handbook, which gathers the best advice and insight from 100 episodes of the podcast into one volume.

Andrew is married with two grown-up children and lives in Cambridge England.
